Title: A1 completed between Belfast and Dublin

Today saw the opening of the final stretch of the motorway link between Dublin and Belfast. Five months ahead of schedule this new piece of infrastructure will now allow motorists to travel between the two cities in apporximately 90 minutes.
At the offical opening in attendance was the Taoiseach Brian Cowen, the North's Deputy First Minister Martin Mc Guinness and Conor Murphy MLA, the north's Transport Minister.
Commenting at the opneing, Mr Murphy stated "it's a significant development in Ireland, it connects the two main cities of Ireland, it opens up the eastern seaboard of Ireland, and I think that allows for greater devlopment north and south, with greater economic co-operation, greater marketing for Ireland internationally."
