“I was really shocked when I received a phone call advising me that Esker were in liquidation” states Shaun Mc Bride Editor of Buszone magazine.

When Kilbeggan based, KVC was formed in 1996, I don’t think Danny Mc Gee realised how big an impact he would be on the Irish Bus & Coach market. Anyone who has had the opportunity to work for Danny will know his determination, vision, and attention to detail, all the characteristics needed for a young entrepreneur. In 2003 he took a big step, Esker Bus & Coach was formed to fulfil a niche need in the Irish market. He had completed an exclusive dealership with UNVI in Spain, one of Europe’s leading coach bodybuilder.

The right place at the right time, Esker products were an instant success, surely becoming a dominant supplier in the thriving Irish Bus & Coach business. Taking it a step further Danny looked at the UK market appointing Harry Ferguson as a Dealer in Scotland followed by the creation of Esker Uk with the building of a purpose built showroom in Worksop in 2006. So to hear the news of the forced liquidation was a shame and a tragedy to the industry. The whole Coach & Bus industry has been suffering in the current economic climate. The lack of funding available from financial institutions made it difficult to place orders for new vehicles thus reducing demand.

When we contacted Danny for a statement he advised us that he was overwhelmed by offers of help and support. Currently the Company is working with UNVI and the suppliers to ensure that there is adequate backup for its Irish customers. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of my customers and suppliers for their custom over the years. Finally I would like to sincerely thank all of my loyal staff, many of which have been working for me since the start” concluded Danny.
